About Us

Who We Are

Victims First Northumbra is an independent victim referral service set up in 2015. We offer free, confidential support and advice for anyone affected by crime living in the Tyne and Wear or Northumberland area. It doesn’t matter if the crime has been reported to the police or not, Victims First Northumbria are here to help you to cope, recover and move on positively.

“We put victims of crime at the heart of our service. Our bespoke support is tailored to each individual and will be initially by telephone from one of our trained care co-ordinators. We will work with you to create a cope and recovery plan that might include emotional support from one of our volunteers, practical support or advice, referrals to specialist services and support through any associated court case”
